William Lee Holman’s legacy

William Lee Holman, was a brilliant student and native of Holly Hill, South Carolina. Mr. Holman was born in 1950 and died in 1977 at the age of 26 1/2 years old . He was committed to education, social activism, family , community and faith. He was a 1970 honors graduate of Roberts High School in Holly Hill, SC and a 1974 cum laude graduate of Claflin College ( now Claflin University) in Orangeburg, SC. He was very involved in organizations and clubs in high school and college. He was also active in his local church and community.

Mr. Holman was a leader and made a difference in his community and worked tirelessly to improve conditions of others and championed social justice. He was recognized in his community and was a scholar. He had dreams of becoming a lawyer and attending graduate school. He worked to make a difference in the world. During his life he experienced economic challenges to attend graduate school and was not able to attend during his lifetime. He held a personal pursuit for excellence, knowledge, valued helping others and always worked to improve himself and shared with others. He was recognized for his intelligence and brilliance in the community and school.

This organization was founded in October 2023 by his daughter, Kaisha McCrea as a living memorial to his life, impact , dreams and goals. This serves as a way to continue his legacy and support students from South Carolina financially as they obtain higher education opportunities following graduation. He lived a powerful life and left an impact on those around him. We are committed to continuing his work to support students and underserved communities through scholarship, financial literacy and advancement.
